Color, luminiscience sensors

Registration mark sensors, also known as color contrast sensors, act as a color detector by identifying suitable color contrasts to inspect registration marks, using one, two or three color LEDs.

Color Detection = QC50 Series True Color Sensor
Luminescence = Q26 Series Compact Luminescence Sensor and QL56 Series Rugged Housing Luminescence Sensor
Registration Mark = R58 Series Registration Mark Sensor and R55F Series Fiber Optic Registration Mark Sensor
Contrast Detection = Q3X Series Laser Contrast Sensor

Registration Mark Detection

Registration marks identify packaging material and are used for position control and to coordinate the separation and cutting of webs of packaging material. The webs are processed at high speeds and product changeovers can be frequent. The size and location of a registration mark as well as the color, sheen and translucence of the material can significantly affect mark detection.  Keep reading to learn more about how color mark sensors with RGB technology detect registration marks, when to use a color mark sensor versus true color sensor, and more.

QC50 true color sensor

Available in two versions for application flexibility: QC50 models for most applications and QCX50 models for more challenging applications such as differentiating dark blue from black
Accurately analyzes and compares color to color, or varying intensities of one color
Features easy-to-set push-button programming options for one, two or three colors
Delivers fast sensing with a response time of 335 microsecond for the QC50 and selectable 1 or 5 milliseconds for the QCX50
Features compact, self-contained design
Includes three programming parameters: channel, sensing mode and tolerance level
Available in models with three NPN or three PNP outputs, one for each color channel

Economic color sensor SME312CVG

The MINI-BEAM Expert recognizes the most difficult low-contrast sensing conditions, and automatically expands its sensitivity range to compute the most accurate setting for differentiating even small differences in the received light signals. It is the most accurate system available and will solve tough applications such as white materials on a white background, small components, edge detection, sensing small or lightly tinted color marks, and transparent material.

The choice of a red, green, or blue LED light source in both plastic and glass fiber optics, as well as convergent mode, gives users the ideal sensing solution for maximum sensitivity to any color, even low-contrast targets such as glass, or yellow ink on a white background. This wide choice of models gives you solutions to all your color mark applications.
